"first operation nerves!!!!"

About: Colchester General Hospital

It was the day of my total knee operation and I was nervous but the staff were brilliant explaining every step of my stay on Great Tey ward. The staff were smiling supportive and compassionate to their patients and each other and I am sure they contributed to my speedy recovery. The overall cleanliness was good and the ward has lots of windows so nice and light. During the day the catering staff kept us fed and plenty of tea or coffee. The meals I had were tasty and enough to fill me.I had taken a packet of biscuits in with me just in case but took them home unopened.

Many thanks for your comments and taking the time to submit them. We try really hard to improve our services based on the comments we receive from our patients, their relatives or carers. We have a quarterly At Our Best Awards scheme which recognises staff achievements and thanks them for what they do. It has a team category, an individual and a volunteer category. You could enter the team/the person you were kind enough to write in about, by clicking here! http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/At_Our_Best_Awards Also, could you email me, using the reference “+ve Comment on General Surgery at RDEE4-Colchester General Hospital at 22/11/2014 15:54:51 ”, please so we can pass on your good wishes? Many thanks Paul Searle, Head of Communications Colchester Hospital University NHS Foundation Trust info@colchesterhospital.nhs.uk
