"The staff at the Dental Suite were excellent"

About: Specialist services / Special needs dental service/Community Dental Service

(as a staff member posting for a carer/relative),

My son who is 13 and has mild Aspergers was very nervous about going to the Dentist but he had to have two fillings done. The staff at Mary Potter Dental Suite were excellent with him. They first showed him how to clean his teeth better and helped us to get him some non-mint toothpaste (which we had never been able to find before). His teeth are now cleaner than ever before and he is getting into an excellent brushing routine. They then decided to use “happy air” to help him relax while his first filling was being done. It was a completely new experience for him but both the dental staff were fabulous in explaining what they were doing and being very patient with him. He now has a filled tooth – a major achievement! Thank you very much.

We are delighted that your son has had successful dental treatment at Mary Potter Centre, including being shown how to improve cleaning his teeth, and having a tooth filled using "happy air".

Many of our patients are nervous about visiting the dentist and it is always our aim to ensure that all of our patients are given the best treatment possible to ensure good oral health is maintained.
