"Thank you for giving me my life back"

About: Inclusion Matters Sefton

(as the patient),

Nearly 3 years ago I had a big medical scare that left me with problems, total lack of confidence, social anxiety and small and large panic attacks. It got to be such a problem that it wasn’t only affecting me but also affecting my family, so I had to do something about it.

I went to my doctor, he gave me a prescription for anti-depressant tablets and also a referral letter to Inclusion Matters Sefton.

After about a week I picked up the courage to phone Inclusion Matters and talked to a wonderful lady called Holly who put me at my ease straight away. We talked for about 20 minutes and she recommended that I should have one to one therapy and that I would have sessions. I waited about 4 weeks for my first appointment, petrified I turned up to be met by another wonderful lady called Bev who would be my one to one therapist for all 8 sessions.

Over our first four meetings she taught me how my mind works and how my body works in given situations. On the 5th meeting the penny dropped and I stared to work things out for myself.

From there on in it was for me about repair to my thoughts and actions, in our last meeting Bev and I could laugh and talk about my forgotten problems. Thank goodness I binned the pills and have the courage to phone for help. Thank you Inclusion Matters Sefton and all the team for giving me my life back.

Dear 'TalkTo242',

Many thanks for your feedback, it was really lovely to read about your experiences with our service.

It sounds like despite some understandable initial concerns about coming to the sessions they really paid off for you and you seem to have learnt a lot. I hope your feedback will encourage others to ask for help when they need it.

I will pass your feedback on to Bev and Holly, I am sure they will be pleased to hear that you are doing so well.

Please continue to put into practice everything you have learnt in your session.

I wish you all the best for the future,

Lizzie

Thank you Lizzie for responding to my story, it,s a great help to me to know that there are people out there that care and help people like me.

I'm not yet 100% but I'm working very hard at it and I will get there.

If my story helps even just one person to do what I did and ask for help when they need it, then my story will have been worthwhile.

I have been given a great opportunity to have another course with Inclusion Matters and have grabbed it with both hands.

Thank you

With love
