"Phone system: Unacceptable to be kept waiting for so long"

Following a consultation with my GP I have been referred to have treatment on my knee. In the referral papers I was instructed to call Alliance Medical to arrange an appointment. Today I have been on the phone for 15 minutes trying to get through to the cost of £5. 00. If they are so busy that they cannot take your call straight away they should have a system, used by other companies, to take your name and number and to then call you back.

It is shocking and unacceptable to be kept hanging on for so long. There will be people who would find this difficult sometimes both physically and financially. I gave up after 15 minutes and will see how I get on with the Devon Referral Support Service.
