"Urgent Care Unit: Service itself could not be faulted"

About: Tiverton and District Hospital / Minor injury unit

(as the patient),

I was extremely impressed with the Urgent Care centre when I had reason to use this service last Saturday. Feeling unwell and not confident that I could wait until my GP’s surgery opened on Monday I went along to the Urgent Care Unit where I was seen within 10 minutes. I feel incredibly lucky we have this service in our area, the service itself could not be faulted.

The only problem I had was in locating a telephone number for the service – I wanted to check their opening times but getting hold of a number was difficult. In the end I just turned up at the unit. Perhaps they could do something to make it clearer?

I like the fact they have changed their name to Urgent Care and are no longer Minor Injuries as it more accurately reflects the service they provide – Minor Injuries sounds like cuts and bruises!

Dear Quote897

I have spoken with Tiverton Urgent Care Centre. They were very grateful for your feedback and have advised me that there will be an article in the local press this week advertising the opening hours of the centre.

The best telephone number to use to access this service is 111, where you can seek medical advice over the phone and where an appointment can be made at the centre should you need to see a clinician.

Thank you again for your sharing your experience.

Kind regards

Laura
