I woke up one morning with an extremely fast heart rate and palpitations one morning. From the moment I presented at A&E with my symptoms everyone I came into contact with, admin, nursing and medical staff were all extremely comforting and supportive, especially when I explained my fear of hospitals.
I was taken through to resus for control of my symptoms and both doctors and nurses were brilliant when I was receiving treatment, Just by being there and being honest and supportive with me during my time and treatment I felt more at ease (even if I didn't show it).
Having an obviously busy department that day I was extremely grateful that the staff took time out of their busy day to comfort me, and educate and reassure me when I was most vulnerable. I have no complaints about the GRI A&E, I feel they do their utmost best for every patient who walks through their door.
Kudos to them!
