About: Warrington Hospital

Having being diagnosed with CFS and also having problems with my back and daily pain with my shoulder, i have been referred to the physiotherapy dept in Warrington Hospital. So after driving round for over half an hour trying to find a parking space and then paying £3 for the priviledge, i finally got to my appointment. Where i was told off as i was not doing the exercises properly ( well i do have a bad back!) and where the physiotherapist was more bothered about getting rid of me and chatting to her nurse friend on the reception. Made me feel like, what was the point? Plus my shoulder is now worse than before the appointment. There was no care, no consideration or compassion - I was just a temporary annoyance that was rushed through a pointless process to get me back out of the door. Beyond poor service.

Response from Alison Lynch, Deputy Director of Nursing - Quality and Patient Experience, Warrington and Halton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

I am so sorry to hear of your experience. I have passed your concerns on to the physiotherapy team manager, but would appreciate it if you could please contact us on patient.experienceteam@whh.nhs.uk or 01925 662281 so we can have some further details to help us look into this.

I was sorry too that you could not find a parking space easily, we are doing our best to improve parking facilities on both our sites for both patients and visitors although it can still be very busy at peak times.

Response from Warrington Hospital

Really sorry to hear you had a negative experience of physio service. That's disappointing to hear and not the kind of service that we try to provide. If you want to provide some details we'd be happy to look into it so it doesn't happen again. Please contact us at pals@whh.nhs.uk if you want us to do that. Best wishes.
