"Cancer Two Week Wait"

About: City Hospital campus / Colorectal surgery

(as a relative),

Good experience so far with my 80 year old mother referred on the 2 week wait colorectal cancer pathway. Telephone assessment after 2 working days, Flexi sigmoidoscopy today (day 8) and CT the next day. The staff were lovely. Very caring. Disposable shorts with a rear flap to wear under her gown were very much appreciated to maintain some dignity. Gene was fantastic doing the assessment and prep but everyone was very kind and respectful. Thank you.

Response from Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust

Thanks for sharing your experience of your mother’s care so far. It’s good to hear how you have found our colleagues in the colorectal team to be so caring and respectful, and that the clothing we provided helped to protect the privacy and dignity of your mother during her treatment. We will let the team know that their work is appreciated.

Response from City Hospital campus

This feedback was originally posted in November 2014 via the Patient Opinion website. There is presently a technical problem with the NHS Choices website. This means a back log of comments are presently being pulled from the Patient Opinion website later than usual. We have escalated our concerns to the NHS Choices team, who have assured us that their team are working to resolve the problem. We responded to this post back in November 2014. This lovely feedback was shared with the staff involved at the time.
