Without going into personal detail, I became unwell quite suddenly a few weeks ago and telephoned my practice (Greyfriars Medical Practice) for advice.
The practice nurse ( Jackie) immediately consulted the GP and called me back within minutes to ask my husband to bring me in to the surgery. When I arrived, the GP Dr Dawn Philips was waiting for me and immediately sprang into action!
It appears that by that time my situation had become a bit of an emergency, and Dr Philips and practice nurse Jackie ( a different Jackie this time! ) provided me with prompt, expert intervention. Despite the fact they they both had a waiting room full of patients, they took time to reassure me and also explained what was happening to my husband. I was there for quite some time, and afterwards, they both took time to look after me until I was recovered enough to go home.
Later that evening, Dr Philips called me at home to check how I was feeling, and I thought this was a lovely thing to do, above and beyond the call of duty.
I'd like to thank Dr Phillips, Jackie(s) and all the team at Greyfriars for their wonderful care and attention. Its times like this that make you appreciate the NHS and the dedicated people who work there!
