"Checked in as a patient but felt more of a friend with Lincoln's cardiac care"

About: Lincoln County Hospital / Cardiology

(as the patient),

I checked in a bit early, but was seen before my appointment time. All staff in the unit were kind, caring, respectful and laid my anxieties to rest. The procedure was carried out with great efficiency and professionalism I was made to feel more like a friend than a patient.

The after care in the cardiac recovery unit was exemplary ALL staff even the cleaners and the tea lady were friendly and couldn't do enough for me. Excellent

Dear Alison,

To say that I had trepidations and was very anxious would be gross understatement.

The procedure was over before I knew it (Dr. Lee) and I wondered afterward, why I'd been so worried.

Every member of the team involved, went out of their way to allay my fears and anxieties. I wish I'd had a pen and notebook handy so that I could now name names, but Sarah Baker (the only name I can remember) was exceptionally caring, compassionate and professional.

My transfer to the Cardiac Recovery Unit (Johnson Ward) in terms of the level of care I received was seamless.

Another big thank you to all the wonderful staff involved.

I'm expecting to have surgery at The Glenfield in Leicester some time soon. If the staff there are half as good as the LCH cardiology staff, I know that I'll be in safe hands.
