"All the staff were great"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - City Campus / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as the patient),

I’ve had two operations at Nottingham City Hospital, the first on 16/01/08 on my shoulder. Apart from getting an infection the operation went well and the service and care I received was second to none. For treatment on the infected wound I went to my GP and NHS Trust as they are both accessible to me. However, the registrar told me off for not going back to the hospital. This made me feel embarrassed and humiliated; especially as I was not told to go back to the hospital should I get an infected wound. The second operation in December 2008 went very well. I mentioned that I did not like the part when you “go under” and the anaesthetist was very thoughtful and kind. As we chatted he must of given the injection because I woke up with no knowledge of passing out. All the staff were great; better than private! For both operations everything was explained carefully to me so I knew what to expect.
