"Cold visit to accident and emergency at Grantham hospital"

About: Grantham & District Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

I cut my hand on a kitchen knife and went to A & E because it would not stop bleeding. The staff were great but there was no heating in the waiting area.

Dear Vertijo

I was execeptionally pleased to read that you had a very positive experience of care within our Emergency Department following your recent accident and I hope you are recovering well.

I was sorry to read of the low temperture within our waiting area. over the past few days we have been experiencing significant issues with our heating systems that have required extensive repairs. We had introduced temporary heating systems to areas affected but clearly in the area you describe this wasnt robust enough.

I will feed this into our Estates Department to ensure a better provision in future.

I am pleased to write that our heating system is now fully repaired.

I am happy to discuss further, my contact details being 01476 565232 ext 4153

Garry Marsh

Deputy Chief Nurse
