"Worrying wait for biopsy results"

I have now been waiting several weeks and months for a cervical biopsy result and I have been going round in circles trying to find out where they are. I phoned my GP and the hospital in early Autumn and was told they had only just started sending out August results. I contacted Leicester Royal patient services and was told a letter was sent on a certain date- I have never received anything. I contacted my GP today and collected a copy of the letter but this wasn't the biopsy result- it was simply a summary of the procedure the consultant carried out! Where on earth are my biopsy results? It's really poor and extremely worrying- and I can see from other posts that excessively delayed results seem to be the norm. At such a worrying time for people, we shouldn't have to be chasing these results. It's such a shame as the staff and consultants at the gynaecology clinic are really lovely, warm and professional.
