"Long wait for 2 minute injection"

About: Huddersfield Royal Infirmary

After having day surgery I was suffering sickness from the anaesthetic on my return home, the day clinic recommended I go to my nearest a&e for an anti sickness injection as my operation was in my throat and I didn't want to be sick again on the wound. I waited for 2 and a quarter hours for a 2 minute injection, bearing in mind I had told them I had had a general anaesthetic that morning, my body had been through a lot that day, I was desperate to get the injection and return home to sleep as quickly as possible. When it was done the doctor said, 'try to rest' - I would have loved to but it was by now nearly 2am and I had been there since 11.40, the waiting room wasn't busy and I didn't get any sense of speed from the nursing staff - disappointed.
