"Care has always been good"

The care provided by staff at Guernsey House has always been good (part from when scripts have been wrong over bank holidays). The only problem I found was the period of time between being first referred here by my GP and seeing a doctor to start a methadone script (it took 6 weeks). In that large amount of time any one persons drug addiction can spiral out of control resulting in many things such as imprisonment.

This is a reply to all the patients attending Guernsey House who have sent us their opinions of the service we are providing. We will be replying to specific individual responses but felt a general response was necessary to show that we are not ignoring the excellent feedback we have had so far.

There have been many good things said about the service as well as some specific areas that can be improved, but the overwhelming theme on the negative side has been the clinics running late, people having to wait beyond their appointment time to be seen and difficulty accessing the service when things go wrong. We have noted these complaints and are looking at ways of dealing with them. The solutions will be posted on the website for discussion.

Please keep the feedback coming and encourage other patients to participate this is a vital link in improving the service. Thank you to all of you that have responded

Thank you for your posting, We agree it's really important to get our service users seen as quickly as possible after referral. We are commited to provide a service where this no longer than 3 weeks we are sorry if this was not your experience of our service. If this event happened recently we would be very interested in discussing this with you further so that any errors on our part can be corrected to avoid a repeat of this circumstance, thank you for bringing it to our attention.
