"It’s so important to say thank you to people who make a difference"

About: South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust / Emergency ambulance

(as the patient),

Kelvin the paramedic was an angel in disguise. He’s a big tall chap and couldn’t do enough for my husband and he waited for the doctor to arrive. The way he spoke to my husband was absolutely marvelous. Since Kelvin came, my husband has sadly now passed away. However I just wanted to say thank you for how Kelvin treated him. It’s so important to say thank you to people who make a difference. I have never found the ambulance service wanting apart from one previous occasion when an ambulance was cancelled.

Dear Nearby281

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I am so sorry to hear of the sad loss of your husband and offer my most sincere condolences to you and your family.

It is always rewarding to hear that our staff are continuing to provide excellent care to our patients when they need us most.

I would like to pass your kind comments onto Kelvin for you. Would you be able to contact me, laura.martin@swast.nhs.uk or call 01392 453831, at your convenience, with the date and address that the ambulance attended? This would allow me to identify the correct Kelvin and ensure he is recognised for the care they gave.

Thank you again for providing feedback on our service.

Kind regards

Laura
