"Staff were very kind"

About: Royal Hallamshire Hospital / Urology

(as the patient),

I spent three days in Hallamshire hospital due to bladder problems. During that time I felt I was cared for with care, compassion and love, especially form the sister! I hadn’t had any tears until she put her arms round me and that opened the flood gates! Everyone who cares for me was kind, polite and respectful and I felt well informed. The pre-theatre staff were especially kind and caring and helped me to ease my tears. The worse time for me was the nights. It was so noisy and I found it difficult to sleep although I did have a sleeping tablet one night. Even though the staff were respectful and drew the curtains round the beds I felt there was no privacy and everyone could hear the conversations between medical staff and patients. On the whole my hospital visit was ok but there is no place like home! I am very grateful for all they did.
