Unfortunately my Mother broke her leg at home on recently, received treatment in the A&E department which was fine then transferred to the ward 204 comfortable night had besides all the comings and goings throughout the night.
My Husband rang the next day to see how my mother was, also to ask being as he works shifts and I don't drive, would it be possible to see her out of visiting hours. He was told you need to talk to the charge nurse.
So when we turned up at the ward asking to speak the charge nurse who eventually arrived ask if we could drop off the few clothes we had brought, also could we spend a little time with my Mother only to be told we have two minutes. Half an hour would have been good.
I realize it's a busy ward but would be good if some had a little compassion instead of a Victorian attitude.
