"These people changed my life"

About: Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust / Crisis resolution and home treatment

(as the patient),

I am a 46 old woman and I was very ill for months and I was keep going to my GP and A & E almost every week telling them that I am very ill and I cannot carry on my daily life. I was physically and mentally ill and I got no help at all.

After almost a year I could not live my life anymore. I could not walk, breath, eat or go to work, I could not go out or enjoy things in life that we all do so I decided that my life not worth living any longer if this is the way I will have to live for the rest of my life. I wanted to end it all.

I was asking for help but nobody could hear me until end of September when I end up again in A&E when the people there referred me to Blackpool Crisis and Home Treatment Team. Since then my life has changed a lot. I can do almost all the things I used to do before and that means I got back to my life. I've been diagnosed with severe anxiety and depression and I have been put under the care of the Crisis Home Team.

These people changed my life, they gave me the wish to live again and thanks to them I am here today to tell my story. These people don't just do their jobs, these people care for people! The team was so helpful to me, they did understand my needs, they was coming to my home every day in the beginning then when I got better, they came every other day.

I used to have panic attacks few times a day and I used to call them, the team was always there for me, on a phone or at home. The team are very caring and are extremely professionals in their approach to patients, I would like to thank to all the team for the exceptional care and support they give me.

I am so grateful to the team who were involved in caring for me. These people have a genuine attitude of caring and sympathy and they help me tremendous with my recovery, I would not be here today with out their help.

I would like to say thank you to Dr Le Roux, Carol, Marian, Robert, Marius, Anne, Emma, Simon, Hannah and forgive me if I forgot some names. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to the whole team that helped me with my recovery!

Thank you very much for your positive comments, which have been gratefully received by Dr Leroux and the team. They have also been passed on to the Adult Mental Health Network’s Deputy Clinical Director, and recorded as a compliment. It is so important to hear when things have gone well, so that we can continue to get things right in the future.
