I was diagnosed with an over active thyroid. Prescribed treatment was started but aafter a few months my body had a very adverse reaction to the medication.
It was then decided that radioactive iodine treatment would be the next course of action.
This was done in May of this year and appears to have been successful.
But during all this time I underwent periods of anxiety, depression and complete loss of confidence.
My visits to see Professor Weetman at the endocrinology department helped tremendously. He has been extremely understanding, thoughtful and reassuring throughout this dreadful experience.
I have now been discharged from the hospital and my life appears to be returning to normal.
"thoughtful and reassuring throughout this dreadful experience"
