"appointments don't seem to happen"

About: Ipswich Hospital / Ear, Nose and Throat Ipswich Hospital / Urology

(as the patient),

from hospital number

1. appointments don't seem to happen

1. 1 a letter dated 4/2/13 was rec, d from urology saying I would be seen again in a year's time -it is now nearly 2 years without such a letter

1. 2 a friend advises it is standard procedure to recheck hearing every 3 years once one has been assessed and had an aid. It is now 5/6 years and no approach has been made for re-assessment

2. there is difficulty getting through on telephone and no obvious way to email for appointments

in the past it has often been necessary to revise the appointment time since little account is taken of people like me who have to bus in, changing buses at the Cattle market; In one instance the reverse operated resulting in me having to walk back to the cattle market and catching the last bus at 6. 15 with minutes to spare. Patients appointment preferences days/times should be logged and studied before issuing an appointment

Telephone reminders (automated) should be sent the day before as indeed my nhs dentist does
