"Maternity care exemplary from start to finish"

I'd more than happily book into this hospital should I ever let my husband near me again to have a 2nd child. The care I received was beyond expectation and everyone so willing to listen and help. I have previous back condition which I self-manage and being pregnant for 1st time - had no idea if back would survive. Having flagged up concerns at time of initial booking into unit, everyone was informed from the start and helped tremendously - from the physio I had early on (which nipped back locking problem in bud) to participating in over 40s mother research to actual delivery and the help from the anesthetist team as to which pain relief best for my back - I can't fault the level of detail, care and attention I received and my thanks to all I came into contact with, the doctor and her team, the midwives on all teams (Day Assessment unit), pre/post natal wards, delivery room), the orderlies on all the wards, the care assistants.... Although I didn't get delivery I'd had in mind initially due to my son deciding to get into difficulties so bit rushed at end, I didn't mind as end result was an excellent outcome. My only negative experiences were the quality/appearance of the food - definitely James Martin hasn't been on those wards re food improvement! But was only there for about 3 days in total - 2 pre and 1 post delivery and fellow patient partners in the 4-bed ward room who snored for Britain and then some. How those women sleep through it/ignore it I have no idea as one particular husband after 4 hours of putting up with it I went to see if midwives had earplugs only to find that you could hear him all the way down the corridor and they were wondering who was making the racket too! Fellow maternity mums - do us all a favor, if your husband snores - don't have him in overnight or prod him awake so the rest of us get some badly needed sleep!
