"Day Care Unit"

About: Halton Hospital

When I arrived at the Unit, I was met by a very smiling, polite receptionist. Then I was shown into the day room, after that the nurse took me to Bay A and my nominated bed. All the necessary clothes were laid out for me to change into and also shown where to put my outdoor clothes. All the nurses were very polite and I was taken down to Theatre by a lovely porter and one of the nurses off the ward. The Staff on arrival were very pleasant and they had an air of calm. My operation was for injections into my spine and pelvis. which was very painful. The Theatre Nurses were excellent by talking to me and giving plenty of TLC. (How I didn't break the nurses fingers. I will never know!). After the procedure was over. the recovery staff looking after me were fantastic. their manner. care was brilliant. Once back on the Unit I was made a lovely cup of coffee and two rounds of toast (very much appreciated). Because my husband. who was picking me up had a previous appointment. the nursing staff showed me again to the Day Room where I was made comfortable, (and also another cup of coffee) before I left the Unit about 1.00 pm. I couldn't thank your dedicated staff enough. Please thank them again on my behalf and keep the good standards up.
