"Cardiology visit"

About: Conquest Hospital

I attended the cardiology department yesterday for an angiogram and my experience was first class. On initial meeting everyone introduced themselves and gave an outline of what their function was. In this respect Kipling’s six honest serving men come to mind (What and Why and When and How and Where and Who) any questions or queries were answered directly and honestly. Everyone introduced themselves. When I was taken through to the room where the procedure was to be carried out everyone introduced themselves and explained what they where going to do however exactly who was who was lost in the sensory overload of the procedure. A smiling confident man attached the ECG leads another man administered the local anaesthetic and inserted the sheath through which the procedure would be carried out. A nurse in the background kept me informed as too the proceedings. All of this was controlled by man who orchestrated the proceedings with his confident and to me very knowledgeable manner. His whole demeanour was one of calm and total control a must when inserting foreign objects in or around the heart. In summary my treatment by all members of staff was second to none. I.C.
