"Unfriendly staff"

About: Queen Alexandra Hospital

I find all the staff i have had dealings with very unhelpful and unfriendly. Too busy to help and made to feel like a piece of the furniture. No one gives their names, they ignore visitors and just 'do' the job, ticking boxes and getting through the day. Always too busy. No care or attention given, simple instructions or requests not followed. Food is terriable. Equipment left bleeping for ages and not put away. Overall a very miserable place to be compared to St Richards where the nurses and all the staff were amazing and couldn't do enough to help

Thank you for sharing your feedback on your recent time here at Queen Alexandra Hospital. We would like to assure you that there are stringent measures in place which should prevent equipment being left out unused, but it is clear that they failed on this occasion. We will therefore ask the relevant department to revisit this process to see if anything further can be done to avoid this happening again.

Please allow us to offer our sincere apologies that staff did not provide you with their names as we understand this is a key element needed for a strong foundation of good communication. This clearly did not take place during your admission, but please be assured that we have passed your comments on for information and learning..
