"Understaffed and lack of management!"

About: Wexham Park Hospital

We waited 6 days in ward 21 whilst we waited for a bed! First 2 days was great all the care we would expect but then we felt forgotten When we told the doctor we had been waiting 6 days the doctor himself was shocked! The food at the hospital is a disgrace! Greasy fried food at its best,I'm a chef but it dosent cost too much to put together some fresh healthy food for sick patients! My school dinners was better! The midwifes and doctors are all fantastic but look tired and strained due to lack of staff Some one from the top should please look at this and look after your staff! Rant over we had a beautiful baby girl by c section after 6 days of waiting with very hungry stomaches!

Thank you for leaving your feedback after the birth of your baby girl. We always strive to give a high standard of care and we are pleased that you found the staff to be courteous and friendly. October has been an unprecedentedly busy month for us. We delivered 10% more babies than the previous month. I apologise that you and your partner had to wait to go to the Labour Ward. Although the maternity wards were busy, every area was safely staffed. The delay with commencing your care was not because of the staffing levels but because of the unprecedented amount of women attending our hospital in labour and with obstetric emergencies. I am sorry to hear that the food did not meet your expectation - we are currently undergoing a review of our menus with Sodexo, the supplier, with patient involvement, and I will feed your comments into that review. Any changes will be effective from Jan 2015. If you would like to discuss your care with our lead midwife, Monica Warren, please contact her on 01753 634474, 07899 066670 or email: monica.warren@hwph-tr.nhs.uk Many congratulations to you Best Wishes Claire Marshall Associate Director of Patient Experience and Public Involvement
