After some considerable time I was given an appointing to attend the above department for the removal of a lipoma. I arrived at 0715, and at 1700 I was told I would not be having my operation. After no food or drink all day I feel let down, to say the least. I have no confidence my next visit will be any better. It appears this is quite a common occurrence. Rex Smith, Heighington

Dear Mr Smith,
Please accept my unreserved apology for the cancellation of your surgery after you had waited all day. Unfortunately theatre operating lists can run out of time due to unforeseen circumstances. Please raise your previous cancellation to your admitting nurses attention when you next come in to SAL and we will ensure that theatre is aware.
