I had reason today to visit the Royal Sussex County Hospital and was able to observe visitors both entering and leaving the hospital while waiting collection. During a period of about 10 minutes I did not see one person use the antiseptic gel prominently displayed with advice to use before and after visiting. People seemed totally oblivious to this facility.Might it be a good idea for every letter to patients to carry a distinctive message reminding them of the necessity of this practice since the message appears inadequately publicised?
