I came to Southmead after finding a new surgeon who specialised in the surgery needed as had had numerous horrific experiences at a previous hospital. This place is stunning. The single rooms with own bathroom are great and give privacy with the door blinds and space for your own possessions. This I found so helpful as was in for nearly 6 weeks most of which was before surgery. Cleanliness was first class, cleaned morning and evening. Staff wwere all polite, helpful and caring even when they were rushed off their feet as short staffed. Parking issues - no different to any other hospital. Food, once I could eat was lovely and decent portion sizes and choice. The little shop is superb for all manor of odds and ends, useful when you're in for long period and very long way from home. Maybe instead of second costa have a different sort of cafe dining place for patients and relatives can use.
