"Given incorrect information on waiting list"

About: Royal Sussex County Hospital

I went to see a private clinic about a gynaecology procedure. The consultant also works at the Royal sussex hospital and told me that there was a waiting list for NHS operations to be a max of 18 weeks. After many phone calls to chase up a quicker appointment, I finally got an appointment after 16 weeks. The doctor went through everything that was already discussed at a previous appointment. I was expecting to get an operation within a few weeks after this meeting but was told that I would be waiting a max of 18 weeks (AGAIN!) Not happy that there seems to be continuous waiting and that the doctor gave me incorrect information in the first place and that I had a wasted few hours off work for nothing. I am now on the waiting list for Haywards Heath and Lewes as well in order to try to get seen quicker. Let's hope it is soon....
