In April, and in October of this year I have undergone "Cataract and Lens Implantation under LA" procedures in the Ophthalmology Department at Cumberland Infirmary on both eyes by two different surgeons. Both of these procedures were carried out in what I can best describe, as highly competent manners by both of these highly skilled Surgeons. I felt no discomfort whatsoever during either of these procedures. Both operations have proved to be successful, and my --soon to be-- 80 year-old eyesight is back to the high standard which it was, in my youth. I have every confidence that when I have my eyesight checked by the optician of my choice, in a fortnights time, that I will have regained my 20/20 vision. Which is all down to the treatment that I received in this Department. My Sincere Thanks to All. I was treated with friendliness and respect, by everyone with whom I was dealt by in the Department. I have nothing but the highest praise for all concerned, in that department. I am also well aware of the debt which I owe to the NHS itself. I shall be making a donation to the Ophthalmology Department Research Fund, as a token of my gratitude.
