I am currently 35 weeks pregnant and wanted to share my experiences of the fantastic team of midwives, sonographers, consultants and other staff I have had the pleasure of meeting so far. I have been consultant led throughout my pregnancy due to a high bmi. After a lifetime of being treated cruelly by many different walks of life, I was dreading having to be in regular contact with medical staff thinking I was going to be lectured and made to feel like I was wrong for wanting to become a mum. However, nothing could be farther from the truth with all of the staff in the antenatal department. Every visit I have had to make (quite a few!) has been a pleasurable experience. I have been treated so nicely with dignity and complete respect. The staff could not be more helpful or supportive and have made me feel completely at ease throughout my whole pregnancy. Unfortunately a couple of issues have flagged up in the last week or so, but they are still making me and my husband fully aware of what is happening and are doing their very best to put our minds at ease. We are just hoping that these last few weeks go by with as few problems as possible. I cannot praise your team highly enough and thank you all from the bottom of my heart for making me feel "normal" I just hope the care and kind consideration will continue until after my baby is born!
"Antenatal care is fantastic !"
