"Admission on 15.10.14"

About: Colchester General Hospital

My Father was admitted to the Emergency assessment unit via A&E on the 15th of October, He was seen and processed in a reasonable time, all the staff that he encountered in A&E Doctors, Nurses etc, treated both of us in a professional, friendly and approachable manner. They answered questions and we felt involved in his treatment. From what I understand from my Father was happy with the treatment he had in the emergency assessment unit. As a relative the biggest challenge I had was being able to contact the ward to receive an update on his treatment, however I do appreciate how busy the staff are.

Many thanks for your comments and taking the time to submit them. We try really hard to improve our services based on the comments we receive from our patients, their relatives or carers. You can always email a message to an inpatient at either of our hospitals. Please include their first name and surname and the ward they are on. (If you don't know the ward, please give the patient's address and postcode so we can cross-check our records.) Then click here to email your message (opens in your email software, such as Outlook or Mail) Emails are handled weekdays during office hours, and we try to get them to the patient by the next working day. (Note: we don't accept 'eCards' or similar, just an email.) You may wish to phone a ward directly and we publish the ward phone numbers for Colchester General Hospital and for Essex County Hospital here. Don't forget that a patient can receive phonecalls from their friends and family to their own Hospedia bedside entertainment system*, although they have to set this up once at the hospital. http://www.colchesterhospital.nhs.uk/contact.shtml#patients We have a quarterly At Our Best Awards scheme which recognises staff achievements and thanks them for what they do. It has a team category, an individual and a volunteer category. You could enter the team/the person you were kind enough to write in about, by clicking here! http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/At_Our_Best_Awards Also, could you email me, using the reference “+ve Comment on Accident and emergency services at RDEE4-Colchester General Hospital at 02/11/2014 15:57:38”, please so we can pass on your good wishes?
