I was diagnosed with severe depression and prescribed anti depressants by my GP which did not work.I was then sent to see a nurse at the LIncolnshire Partnership Trust mental health team.
I was suicidal, could not get out of bed, had lost nearly 2 stone from not eating but was given just six appointments then discharged in exactly the same state as when I went in .The nurse stated I needed much more treatment but said she was not allowed to see me any more as it would put waiting lists up and effect the trust rating.
I was put under the care of a crisis team and told to phone them if I needed more help. I was very suicidal and I did try to phone them, but they never answered the phone number .I checked and it was the correct number but gave up in the end. The phone rang and rang and no-one answered.
In the end I went to live temporarily with my mother in another county (Yorkshire)and immediately got excellent care. I was seen daily for several weeks, then gradually three times a week, twice a week, weekly etc.
I got intensive CBT for months and made a good recovery.
But I should have been able to get this care in Lincolnshire.
What do people do who have no-one in another county to live with?
