"1st visit"

About: Leighton Hospital

I had to attend the hospital for a chest X-ray. Unfortunately my GPreferral form hadn't been completed fully so they had to call the surgery. After waiting for about 10 minutes without receiving a callback form my GP the radiologist decided that after aski a few questions that she could process this very basic of procedures. Very pleased to see that bueaurocracy does not rule at Leighton Hospital.

Thank you for taking the time and trouble to make your comments on NHS Choices. Under regulations that govern the practice of medical imaging a Radiographer can act as referrer in their own right and the policies at Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust support this by allowing Radiographers to act as a referrer/ practitioner and operator for some imaging. On this occasion the Radiographer after reviewing the information you were able to give them decided to go ahead and I am pleased that this meant that you could have your x-ray at that time and not have to return at a later date Sue Hamman Divisional Professional Lead Diagnostic & Clinical Support Services
