"I had calcium removed from my knee"

I had some calcium removed from my knee at Nottingham City Hospital in March this year. The doctors on Gillies ward were concerned for my well being, which I thought was one the best things about how I was treated. However, the attitude of some of the nurses could have been better. I had to have 72 hours of bed rest after the operation. Some nurses disagreed with the consultant on the number of hours I needed rest, so they made my life rather unpleasant at times. I also had an epidural but no catheter was inserted. Consequently after the numbness wore off I found myself lying in a soaking wet bed. As I was swathed in bandages which were not removed and replaced for five days. It ended up a bit smelly.
