I have been attending the eye clinic for treatment for glaucoma for around 10 years now. Over the last couple of years the whole appointment and treatment system has got worse. 1. Recurrent appointments. The next appointment used to be made at the hospital immediately after the current appointment, Now, I am meant to receive a letter giving me an appointment. I have never received a letter on time, I have to ring up to get an appointment one or two months after the scheduled date. The last time this happened was this morning. 2. I was prescribed a third set of eye drops, but the consultant didn't write this down so on my next visit (late as usual) there was no record. Apparently we should bring our medicine with us since the written records are so poor. 3. The electronic time boards saying everything is running on time are a joke. On my last visit one of the other patients told a nurse they were broken and should be fixed. We all expect the appointments to be late. We all wait stoically. But having something saying everything is running on time just makes you think you've missed your name being called. 4. I could go on.
"eye clinic is badly run"
