"Operations Cancelled Heart attack & Attending Cancelled Appointments"

About: Leicestershire and Lincolnshire Lincoln County Hospital / Cardiology Lincoln County Hospital / Ear, Nose and Throat

(as the patient),

This all starts from 2008. I was promised to have a stent and put onto a waiting list. In 2013 I was still waiting for the stent. My GP was sending request after request after request for an appointment. I got nothing. In 2014 health was bad. I had waited 9 yrs for an operation on my nose and an operation on my left shoulder due to a calcium build up. They both got cancelled due to me having very high blood pressure. Which would never have happened if I had the stent put in the first place. I am in a lot of pain with my shoulder and I scream out in pain every day.

So I finally had a massive heart attack and had that stent, I was promised in 2008, put in. I was told I was lucky to have survived because I have 2 other main arteries that are on the way out and I need 2 more stents to be put in.

A Month later I am sent back to hospital with unstable angina and a bowel complaint. The bowel complaint is from 2010. In Sep 2010 I was diagnosed with diverticular disease worst case senario. I was promised a virtual colonoscopy and an operation on my bowel. It took 3 yrs to get the colonoscopy done. Still waiting for the operation. Must be a huge waiting list I'm on. I spend 2 weeks in hospital this time and I had a test done on my bowel. The results where what I all ready was told in Sep 2010. When I was in hospital nothing was done about my unstable angina. A consultant asked me what was more important. I said my heart because if that fails it's game over. I was better off talking to a brick wall. You can get more sense out of that.

So 2 weeks of my life was wasted. I was released on a Friday and then on the following Monday I had an appointment with a heart consultant. Finally I thought I was gonna be told when I was to have my other 2 stents put in. Not a chance in hell. They didn't it even bother to check my medical records. Which where still in the hospital at that time. I even told the consultant I was under then and the other staff in the ward that I had an appointment on that Monday. But my records were never sent. I was told this time around that I didn't need them and my chest pains where muscle spasms. He even sent me a letter stating I was diagnosed without my medical records. So in other words to them it seemed I was cured.

How did this so called miracle happen? I have seen my GP over this and have had numerous requests for another opinion. I want my stents if I don't get these put in I will die. The excuses so far have been that the fax was not received to the consultant has been involved a car crash. From this information I can presume that there is a lack of communication and that the consultant I am under is the only one in Lincoln County Hospital and that the Heart Centre is now shut down and no operations are being done until he gets better. I don't think so. The world does not revolve round one person and the sooner Lincoln County realises this the better.

My new problems are now with Grantham Hospital appointments not being sent to me. Appointments in the past being cancelled and me getting the blame. I now have an appointment for a stress test for me heart. Last time I had one done was in Lincoln and I failed it. So this time I have to go to Grantham for another failure. I get loads of chest pains everyday and I could call an ambulance out 24/7hrs. All I wait for now is my impending death.

Today I went for an appointment at LCH at clinic 4. Which was cancelled and I knew nothing about it. I am fed up of being used as a parking maid feeding your meters. It's an insult.

Every time I have complained nothing gets done. I had a meeting with a complaints teams and letters where sent out in April. Yes that's right April it took 3 months for them to sit on this and then do something which turned out to be nothing.

Dear MrMassive

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience which seems to be a catalogue of errors. Can we ask for you to email patient.experience@ulh.nhs.uk so we can take more details for you and we can look into your appointments for the Heart Centre and your stress test at Grantham Hospital.
