I had an appointment at 9.40 one Friday morning, but was shocked to discover that before the clinic had even opened they were already running an hour behind schedule. I was given no explanation as to why there was such a delay. The doctor I spoke to would only say sorry for the inconvenience. The secretary also became unnecessarily irked when I complained about the situation, suggesting that it simply wasn't her fault. In total I had to sit around for well over an hour and a half even though I had arrived five minutes before the scheduled time of my appointment. There seems to me to be a total lack of appreciation that people have to take time out of their working day in order to attend hospital appointments and as such consent has to be gained from their respective employers. For a clinic to be running late before even opening is atrocious but to offer not even a semblance of an explanation is inexcusable. Private health care although costly would no doubt yield far better results.
