On arrival at Ward 20 I was greeted by a friendly member of staff and shown to a bed in a very clean and tidy bay. Shortly after the Lead Nurse introduced himself and explained what would happen throughout the next few hours. All staff on the ward and in theatre were friendly and professional throughout, putting me at ease and keeping me informed of what was happening step by step. When I reached theatre the procedure was over quite quickly and I was returned to the ward, given some breakfast and a drink. Regular checks were carried out with the utmost dignity and respect right up until discharge. I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who was involved in my care for doing an excellent job.
