I was treated for a pleural effusion at the hospital in May. Despite the staff being polite, courteous and competent in their skills, what was lacking was communication between each other and their systems. On initial diagnosis, despite already having the x rays to tell them the problem, it took 5 different doctors/nurses that asked me the same questions until they realised there we're x rays to see despite me telling them. During my time in hospital, i wasn't given any towels so I could wash, despite requesting on a few occasions and occasionally they forgot to return to give me pain killers, but otherwise it was made as comfortable as it could have been. Post procedure, I was supposed to have a follow up in 2 weeks but instead I was lost in the system, which I had to chase up, so wasn't seen until 8 weeks after being discharged.
"Great individuals but lack in communication"
