"Superb care from paramedics and hospital staff"

About: Wansbeck Hospital

Whilst walking the coastal track near Dunstanburgh and struggling against the gales, I tripped and hit my head hard. Wrist and side of chest also painful. I was on holiday from York. Being alone I wasn't sure how to get medical help on a Sunday, and eventually called emergency services. From then on I was looked after superbly - by the paramedics who assessed and took me to A&E, and then all the subsequent steps through to overnight admission onto Ward 4, and follow-up in the Fracture Clinic next morning. Thank you all so very much.

Dear Jo, Sorry to hear about your fall - sounds like it was quite a nasty one ? I'm so pleased that all parts of the service came together to offer you all that you needed at the time - I imagine it was pretty frightening especially when away from home? Thanks so much for taking the time to pay tribute to our teams and acknowledge their hard work and commitment. I will ensure your thanks are passed on to all concerned. Take great care of yourself and wishing you an uneventful holiday next time you're in the north east. With best wishes, Annie
