"Ward d55 made a horrible week less stressful "

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus / Accident and emergency Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus / Cardiology

(as a relative),

Our grandfather was admitted to the QMC via A&Er he spent two night on ward b3 and was then transferred to ward D55. Our grandad had been very unwell but is starting to feel better, my brother and I were very worried about him, but we felt so reassured by the amazing standard of care that he received from the nursing and medical team. The communication from the team was fantastic with my brother and I, and that level of communication has continued throughout the week.

All of the staff have been great, I would like to mention three particular staff. Staff nurse mark who took time to explain everything that was happening to grandad but also listen to us.

Student Nurse Hayley she is very insightful and genuine, you will be a great nurse.

And finally a ward sister who's name I cannot recall however she worked the night shift on Friday 24th October, she was a very genuine and professional.

Thank you from all of us you made a horrible week in our lives less stressful.

Great news that your grandfather is getting better. We are grateful that you have taken the time to share his experience of wards B3 and D55. We will be sure to pass your lovely message on to Mark and to Hayley, and to all the staff on the wards who helped look after your grandfather during his stay at our hospital.

This feedback was originally posted in October 2014 via the Patient Opinion website. There is presently a technical problem with the NHS Choices website. This means a back log of comments are presently being pulled from the Patient Opinion website later than usual. We have escalated our concerns to the NHS Choices team, who have assured us that their team are working to resolve the problem. We responded to this post back in October 2014. This lovely feedback was shared with the staff involved at the time.
