"disappointment at moorfields."

About: Moorfields Eye Hospital (City Road Campus)

After an extremely awful appointment with a specialist I asked my doctor if she could get me an appointment to moorfields as I had read all the good things about it, as I lived out of area she had to put my case forward to go there, which she successfully did. I waited a long time for this to go through. The day of the appointment I saw the nurse who did the preliminary test, and felt that she could be more welcoming to put people at ease, she said I would be called by another colleague to do a silt test, I waited for 11/2 hours before being called in by the specialist, I sat down to start to explain my symptoms, when he took a phone call in front of me, which I found totally unprofessional, he examined my eyes, but took no tests to determine my degree of dry eye, instead he started asking me if I drank and how to wash my face and just told me to be confident about the red veins in my eyes and that I could do nothing about it, he did diagnose one condition that the other specialist failed to notice, but that was it there was no real treatment given to improve my eyes or deal with my concern. I wish now that I had asked for a referral somewhere else as I don't feel that I gained anything from going there, so after two awful nhs appointments and months of red uncomfortable eyes I have had to go to someone private, which is something I should not have to do, who for the record has prescribed other treatment.
