We attended with my 91 year old mum-in-law who was having palpitations and shortness of breath. She was assessed by a nurse and then asked to wait, seen by a GP and then asked to wait, had an ECG and then asked to wait, had a blood test and then asked to wait, seen by a hospital doctor for blood result and then asked to wait for ECG result, which got lost somewhere resulting in a further long delay. She was tired, hungry and just wanted to go home. Whilst the doctors and nurses were kind and caring, and dealing with numerous patients, we just feel there has to be a better system than this, it's not fair to keep a 91 year old waiting around for four and a half hours. She felt worse when she left than she did on arrival.
"Better system required."
