"Car Park Charge for the disabled"

About: Warrington Hospital

I find it disgusting that a hospital has the audacity to charge the most vulnerable group in society for parking at the hospital for appointments and tests. This group has no choice but to use their own vehicles as public transport and taxis are often not an option due to equipment the disabled require, or the very short distance they can walk and/or inability to climb steps. It's a horrific charge that you should be ashamed off and, given the choice, I will avoid this hospital in favour of travelling great distances for a much better level of service and facilities.

Thank you for your comments. It's not been an easy decision to make but we have looked carefully at parking charges at other hospitals when considering our charges and with the concessions that we have in place for regular visitors the price of parking reduces to around £1 per visit. The new car park monitoring system that has led us to put charges in place means that we will be better able to control and ensure our disabled parking spaces so they are kept free for those who need them as well.
