About: Russells Hall Hospital

I have fibromyalgia and I have to admitted to hospital every six months for lidocaine pain relief treatment..I,ve been having this for at least ten years with no problem..however on the 18august I had my pr admission tests and then had the date of 22september to go in..I phoned the ward (a1) No beds ...I then phone every day for three weeks No beds..eventually after eight weeks I had to have the pre admission done again! That was on Monday 20 October ..I phoned today to get an admission and guess what ? no beds!.. Now I,m getting so much pain I,m desperate for some relief ...who's having all the beds ? Am I being singled out? Other people who had their preaddmision the same date as me have been in weeks ago....how can I get to see my consultant? Who do I complain to? Help needed please.i don't know what to do anymore"..

Thank you for taking the time to get in touch with us about your concerns. It is disappointing to hear that you have been so dissatisfied with the service you have received from us.

Unfortunately, some patients can be disappointed with the lack of available beds, but we hope patients can appreciate that those needing emergency admission must take priority.

However, we understand that you have since received advice from our PALS team. We trust that they have been able to help you with your concerns but please feel free to get back in touch if you have any further queries. Thank you.
