"my son broke his elbow, but wasn't spotted by Watford"

About: Watford General Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as a parent/guardian),

I took my son to a&e at Watford hospital. He broke his elbow at a judo class. I knew straight away that he broke it, as he was in a lot of pain and his bone was sticking out. We sat there for 4 hours and in the end we were told that it wasn't broken and were told that the doctor wasn't a bone doctor. As a mum I didn't believe this, so 3 days later I went to Northwick Park hospital and was told within half hour what I already knew - that it was broken. I will never go to Watford hospital again.
