"How long shall we drag out your cancer diagnosis"

About: Dewsbury & District Hospital

Having been refered to Dewsbury District hospital by my GP over concerns I may have cancer at the beginning of September my appointment came through for two weeks later okay two week rule applied and that's where it ends ...let's send you for a bone marrow biospy a week later and then oh yes the two week cancer rule again we see you in clinic two weeks after bone marrow biospy so three weeks now from first hospital appointment. Bone marrow biopsy shows early cancer cells that they have waited to tell you about but hey before we can confirm anything else lets do a full body xray a week later within the two week cancer rule now it gets seriously bang out of order You have had me and my family waiting since September to find out what is going on and where we go forward all these tests should have been done at same time so that diagonsis is given the worry and stress for us all did you ever stop to think of that no because my full body xray took place last Wednesday at 2pm and the results were reported on and then seen by my consultant at 3.11pm did any one ring to say these results are okay NO they send you a letter on the Friday for an appointment on 12th November another three weeks away. My GP has been brilliant I took him the letter and he got straight through and found my results this should have not happened something as urgent as cancer diagonsis should be much more patient orientated extremely angry and your standard of care
