"Paediatric admission"

About: New Cross Hospital

Our 18m old son was recently admitted with breathing problems and wheeze. PAU staff were courteous and polite. Our son received an appropriate treatment and recovered over 24 hours. The doctors seemed very busy but managed to find time to review our son and keep us informed. The consultant we saw was reassuring and very knowledgeable. The HCSW's were friendly and helpful. Nurses were polite and professional. The toys and play room area were especially appreciated! Constructive feedback would include refitting the wards bathing area, focusing on getting younger children their evening medications first so they can be settled down for sleep (it's hard for our son to stay up till 8:30pm which is when his evening meds were administered), providing some food for solo parents while they are with young children who can't easily leave the ward. All in all though we had a good experience on the paediatric ward and were impressed by the caring and professional nature of the staff we encountered. Thank you.
